They say it’s always a good idea to take a walk in someone else’s shoes once in awhile. As a fun little experiment, I challenged myself to step outside my comfort zone and take on being model AND photographer.
So I donned my favourite, locally made accessories (courtesy of Sonja Picard & John Fluevog) and took a few fun pics.
More than one person has said that I would make a great model for my own line because I design for the demographic I fit into. As a fashion forward consumer and designer, I recognize the need for fun fashion for plus-sized woman. At 5’2, it’s also reassuring to know that there are many items that can also suit a shorter frame. The petite pants that I design with my stature in mind are one of the most popular items on our website.
We just got in a whole slew of new spring items, including some new tunics that I’ve had my eye on. This gave me the perfect opportunity to get out my selfie stick and take some fun #ootds (Outfits Of The Day). Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it! I think it’s a great way to be in control of how you look in the picture.
Personally, I rarely like any photo of myself, taken by others. My girlfriend Shelly made a good call by giving me this selfie stick for Christmas and this was my first opportunity to make some good use of it. Sure, you may look a little silly taking it, but find a nice private place (like the comfort of your own showroom) and it’s all good. 😉
I love the neckline of this tunic, it’s a V neck with a cheeky little cut out, and all the bright colours like Grape, Mango, Sky and Aruba. The handy pockets make it easy to keep my iphone close.
I hope you enjoyed my wee artistic endeavor, smiling face and one of my new favourite tunics!
